Man I would like to know how a few of you guys wake up without Alarm Clocks? See, to me it’s impossible because I have to wake up with my favorite music on… I’m afraid that without an Alarm clock, I’ll oversleep and be late for work… LOL
How do some of you do it? How do you know when to wake up at the proper time?




Try both for a few nights, then switch to only music. (if that’s what you are trying for)
Drink enough water that I’ll be having a stomach ache and nearly bursting by the time I have to get up… that seems to work for me.
easy, I don’t like to hear the alarm. jolts me.
well….since i still live with my parents and go to school im gonna have to say that my mom wakes me up
i have the worst kind of alarm clock there is to wake up for school….my mom
A question i’d like a proper answer to as well. I can wake up when ever i want. I dont know how i do it but i think its something to with me going to sleep think when i need to get up.
i never use an alarm clock. I’m used to waking up at a certain time and that’s 7. once you get used to it then it becomes really easy. you should try it.
Your body has a natural clock in it, very precise too, just gotta learn how to tap into it.
I learned by just telling myself what time it was and what time I had to get up, over n over again. As in, lay in bed and say…” its 1am, its 1am, its 1am, I need to get up at 8am, 8am, that is 7 hours from now, exactly 7 hours I need to wake up “.
Then just go to sleep. I would always wake up 1 minute prior to 8am or be awake enough to see the clock change to 8am.
Some other practice is testing yourself, try to go days w/o looking at clocks and then guess what time it is down to the minute and check yourself. Do this at night, morning, day, etc.
Plus a routine schedule will do most of this. If you always go to bed at 11pm and your body always needs 7 hrs of sleep, after time you will always wake up at 6am.
Same can be applied to eating, going to the bathroom, etc. Ever wonder why dad use to come home and go straight to the bathroom for an hour? He trained himself to always go at this time, in turn, preventing having to go while at work or while out. After all, who wants to sit down in a public toilet now a days?
I just set my brain before I go to sleep and tell it when to wake me up. This has worked for me for many years – at least 40. That is what I guess the saying “Mind over Matter” means. Of course, if you doubt your ability to accomplish the miracle of waking up without music or an alarm clock it will never happen. Try it a few times on weekends and see if you don’t wake up about 3 minutes before your alarm is set.
i know it may sound impossible. The way i do it is..think really hard to myself that I have to wake up at 6 because i have to do this or that..just say it over and over before I sleep..and somehow by the force of my innerself I will wake up at that time…And you know how you still feel sleepy or lazy to wake up, but usually if I do it like that, I can suddenly wake up very fresh… ^^
I find myself waking up a few minutes or even seconds before my alarm clock goes off and I have it set to different times of day all the time due to my occupation where there is no set shift, every day is diffferent.
If you can tell time while awake with out looking at a clock you will be able to tell time while asleep as well and your subconsious will wake you up because you know what time it is.
Train your self to keep track of time. Before you look at a clock try to figure out what time it is, don’t just guess. Think about it, think what you did, what you saw, add it up and make an ‘educated guess’. After a while you’ll become better at it and in no time you’ll also see yourself waking up at 3:59 when the alarm is set at 4:00.
Still set your alarm clock though.

My anxiety of being late is SOMETIMES enough to make me wake up on time without an alarm clock. Don’t get me wrong, I use one too, but sometimes I wake up just before my alarm goes off.
I could never have my favorite music playing as my alarm. I learn to hate whatever noise it is that wakes me up, so it would completey ruin my music.
Oh that happened to me a lot of times and it was really hard not to have an alarm clock, lol. What I do is post a written message on the person’s door who’s going to wake up earlier than me to wake me up at a certain time. But if there aren’t really any alarm clock or people to count on, then I guess I just have to pray harder that I’d get up on time, lol.
